Exactly When Refrigerated Transport Service is Necessary

Refrigerated Transport Service

Transport and logistics companies provide a range of services that are suitable for businesses, larger corporation and individuals too. These services can fulfil a number of different requirements - let’s take a look at some of the main reasons you’d work with a refrigerated transport company.

Ongoing Food Delivery

The majority of food suppliers will choose to go with a refrigerated transport specialist when frozen goods need to be moved between locations that are long distances apart, with interstate of within state lines. Even large corporations that may have the capital to take care of their own chilled transport needs will instead choose to work with third-party providers, given the resources and organizational skills at their disposal. When there is an ongoing need to move goods across the state, for example, putting in place a contract with a provider is a very cost effective and efficient means of meeting this need.
Most food suppliers - from large supermarkets to restaurants and manufacturers too - will require some sort of cheap and cool room transport solution. With logistics technology available that allows for quality monitoring, reports, and analytics, you can be sure that your goods will arrive on time and in the best quality condition. Refrigerated trucks can also be set up so that they have two separate compartments, meaning they can transport goods that require different temperatures in the same truck (chilled and frozen foods, for example).

Refrigerated Delivery Service

Outdoor events

Vendors that are looking to supply food and beverages for outdoor events including festivals and even private functions like weddings or birthday parties, can benefit greatly from having a refrigerated transport service on hand. In many cases, a cool room doesn’t just provide a benefit but is in fact 100% necessary. It allows you to not only transport goods to just about any location safely but also acts as a refrigerator that keeps the food and beverages at optimal serving temperature through the day/night.
A Certain cool room can be hired and hitched to the back of a car or truck, others are slightly larger and can be set at specific temperatures according to what you’re using them to store. There are flexible options available no matter what your requirements and the use of a mobile cool room is usually very convenient.

Some providers will also provide same day one-off coolroom transport service, in the event that there is an issue of a kind on your end. If for example, you manage your own frozen delivery needs and unforeseen circumstances mean that you aren’t able to take care of this, you may think you’re in a spot of bother given that a lot of the time you’ll need to have a long-term contract in place with some refrigerated delivery companies. In these situations, you can find providers that are able to provide some day service on a once-off basis, ensuring that the required deliveries are fulfilled on your behalf.
An expert transport company provides a range of flexible options, meaning that you can use their services for man different things. OFE Refrigerated Transport Melbourne, for instance, has a large fleet of trucks, van, and refrigerated trailer service, and is able to help you find a solution tailored specifically to your needs. Prime Movers in Australia

A Prime Mover serves the purpose of hauling a towed load

In Australia, trucking remains the biggest means of transport for dry and refrigerated goods, accounting for some 1.5 billion tonnes of stock being transported by day. What is even more staggering, is that the logistics industry accounts for more than 15% of the country’s total GDP. Trailers and prime movers account for a great proportion - but not all - of the transported goods in this country. Let’s learn a little bit more about prime movers in Australia and their uses.

What is Prime Mover?

The term prime mover has traditionally been given to something mechanical that has great pulling power. With changes in technology and resources this has referred to different things throughout history. Today, however, a prime mover refers to a heavy-duty tractor unit that capable of transporting huge cargo loads over great distances. Prime movers come in many different forms, but generally they are the trucks you see on the freeway pulling large trailers.

Prime Movers are also known as Tractor Unit or Traction Unit

Types of Prime Movers

There are generally two kinds of prime movers widely used in Australia.

A cab style trailer has the engine and bonnet over the front axle, allowing for great vision for the driver, who sits above the front axle. In Australia we have numerous length restrictions on trailers, so a cab model that is used far less in other parts of the world is quite popular here. To maximise length, this model (called the ‘cab-over’) has a stubbier nose to the point where the front of the truck is vertical and the driver sits much higher. This means you can attach a longer trailer than you would be able to with a convectional model.

Axle prime movers are characterised by the fact that they have usually have multiple axles, meaning they are better suited to heavy-haulage over long distances. Basically speaking, these are your heavy duty prime movers. In Australia, axle prime movers are generally 6x4 units and have 3 axles.

Different versions of Prime Movers have diverse use in transport industry

What are Prime Movers Used for?

Being known for their pulling power, prime movers transport the bulk of Australian goods around the country. For big companies and even smaller to medium sized businesses, it is far more cost-effective to transport large quantities of stock, so it’s usually a case of the bigger the truck, the better. This being the case, prime movers are used to transport basically everything, including refrigerated, chilled and dry goods.

How Container Side Loader Service Can Boost Your Business

When it comes to container loading issue, there are a number of available loaders and trucks that can do the job well. But newly designed side loaders (sidelifters or swing-lifters some might say) not only perform the job like traditional loaders would, but they actually improve efficiency across the board, saving your time and money on every journey you makes.

Side loaders are a huge benefit to businesses of all types thanks to their intrinsic design which negates the use of unloading equipment altogether. One of the main difficulties with traditional vehicles is that additional equipment is necessary for a safe delivery of goods. With side loaders, no additional unloading equipment such as trailer carts, warehouse carts or pallet jacks or lifters are required, ensuring that your deliveries are made directly to the designated point where they need to be.

Avoid Downtime and Cut Additional Costs

With modern side loaders, you need not worry about all of the additional problems that existing traditional delivery systems can cause. With no need for a lift gate, you are less likely to have any accidents or insurance claims made against you, as well as saving on the time it takes to operate a slow lift gate. Avoiding operational down time is also a major plus in the side loaders abilities.

Reduce Time and Cost

Rear loader trailer heights are often an issue for delivery firms looking to place goods directly at the point of delivery, and with multiple systems in place you are looking at less damage to property with the latest low profile side loaders. If you add in the savings made on not having to employ additional warehouse staff, warehouse space, loading dock costs and the overall inaccessibility that traditional loaders may offer, you can save literally hours on each transportation route, huge amounts of money on additional staff and training, making the side loader one of the most efficient piece of transportation and delivery machinery in the market!

Worthy than Standard Forklift

Side loaders are available as truck/trailers that will dramatically increase the load and capacity of your goods on a single delivery route. Increasing your delivery loads will also enable you to add more routes to your delivery schedule, increasing and improving your daily productivity to its maximum.

Here are some visible benefits of sideloaders:
  • As the load is carried on the side, both front and back is clearly visible to the operator.
  • It’s very convenient to load and unload from the side as, unlike forklifts, sideloaders don’t require to turn. This gives upper hand while driving up alongside the rack or the track.
  • Working in narrow aisles and doorways is the specialty for sideloaders.
  • One great benefit is experienced while loading and unloading longer loads such as steel roll, timber log or pipes, as the load is facing in the parallel direction to sideloader.
  • Some recent sideloaders are developed as multi-directional, meaning they can move in all directions by changing the direction of the wheel. These are more efficient in long run.

Give Your Business the Edge It Needs

[Choosing the Right Container Transport]

The benefits to business are felt in a number of industries, such as shipping container transport where large volumes of goods can be transported to and from the loading sites, as well as storage containers transport which side loaders are truly made for supplying. By using the most efficient way of loading and unloading your goods, you will notice a sharp increase in saved time for your deliveries, making side loaders a huge leap forward in terms of productivity.
